Bobbi Arlo’s Parasite is a compelling song that is making its way in the current alternative pop scene

REVIEW

An inspired sound and songs that have always a complete shape and an irresistible charm, an artist with character and a brilliant communicative ability, the retro and the contemporary entwined in a passionate embrace as the end result.

We’re in Dublin and Bobbi Arlo have been consistently releasing her singles for some years now, with a style that always brings her personal taste, samples and synth that serve a fantastic and colourful beat as in “Berries”, a bedroom r’n’b for “Signs”, with an approach so spontaneous and relaxed that sounds like mainstream pop, new jack swing and funk nostalgia in “FEEL IT”.

Parasite” is the last gem released by this Irish artist, all in perfect balance as in her previous works, intriguing and empathic lyrics, a mysterious sound, ready to captivate us all. The song, produced by the loyal Adam Shanahan, is the result of a recent enthusiastic collaboration with the London based songwriter Mikey Gormley.

It’s always good to be able to appreciate artists that, even within a genre that have already said all that had to be said through the years, dictating strict boundaries, are not scared by that and with extreme freedom mix the ingredients with unexpected results. And this is clearly the case.
