The annus horribilis, which we have recently concluded, have been the year of consecration for Oscar Lang. “Antidote to Being Bored” is a bolt of electricity ready to jolt from the first listen, with guitars that won’t let go and a voice that is itself an interstellar sonic journey.
His album “Hand Over Your Head” contained some very appreciated surprises: who wouldn’t think of an early Beck listening to “Apple Juice”? “Get Out”, instead, was breezier and was moving more in the realm of a jangle-pop psychedelic with sixties echoes.
Oscar Lang seems to have the dazed rock’n’roll attitude and the right age to be able to take lessons from the past with the right amount of lightness, and to take advantage of the present to give full rein to his prolific career, let’s just give him some time to elaborate his next move.
