The Inky Nite play an atmospheric and retro pop that couldn’t be brighter and more contemporary

REVIEW

They have taken the best of the British pop experience from the last two decades, with a remarkable ability to go even further back in time, enriching, in this way, their sound with some more retro flavors.

A project, this of Inky Nite from Brighton, born in full lockdown, that so far has signed three single tracks that make their mark. “Bad Machines” with those Kavinsky-like synths and vocals fused together, is a journey through time; “Spectres” uses the same ingredients and delivers a more incisive pop kick.

Their latest move is “The Canyon”, a song where the retro features are intensified by new wave luminescence, the synth-pop is enriched with tasty and clear guitar embellishments, a rain of alienating artificial light that never ceases to dazzle.
